Wait Jeff...not ready yet !

All thru Jeff's babyhood and growing up years, I wanted to halt time...to pause it....to freeze it...because I knew that these would be the best years of my life.

I lived in the present...never occurred  that I would grow old....or that my Jeff would be approaching a 60th birthday.   I don't know when or how it happened...but time moves so timidly you can hardly notice any changes.   I think the only things I really thought about was that at the beginning of a school year, I had to buy another size clothing for my boy.

I wanted to be a wife always...be young always....and have our little boy always.   But Time Does March On...it gallops.   Jeff always had first day jitters !

When he started first grade,  Labor Day had mixed meanings for me....back to school.   When I shopped for his little needs for going back, it consisted of a pencil box, with a little drawer....a couple of pencils, a ruler, scissors, eraser  and a  retractor..  Oh yes, a pretty notebook with the U. S. A. states printed on the back...and a school bag.   Kids wern't wearing backpacks then.   Now our boy was ready!  Sometimes those notebooks had the multiplication tables on them.

Today parents don't get away so cheaply... the kids need a cell phone and a computer at home to do their homework...and designer clothes to keep up with their peers.

Life was so much easier when Jeff was growing up...and I re-visit those times in the memory of my life.

Happy Birthday, Jeffy !
